Itinerary

Arrive at Paro International Airport, where you will be warmly welcomed by your licensed Bhutanese guide and driver. After immigration and customs formalities, enjoy a scenic drive of approximately 1.5 hours to Thimphu (2,286 m), Bhutan’s capital city.
En route, admire beautiful river valleys, traditional villages, and prayer flags fluttering in the breeze.

Explore the cultural highlights of Thimphu, blending tradition with modern Bhutanese life:

  • National Library of Bhutan – Home to ancient Buddhist manuscripts and sacred texts

  • Institute of Zorig Chusum – Learn about Bhutan’s 13 traditional arts and crafts

Overnight stay in Thimphu

Drive to Punakha via the picturesque Dochula Pass (3,100 m / 10,500 ft). On clear days, enjoy spectacular panoramic views of Bhutan’s snow-capped Himalayan peaks and the famous 108 Druk Wangyal Chortens.
Continue your journey through lush valleys and rivers to reach Punakha, the former capital of Bhutan.

Overnight stay in Punakha

After breakfast, drive towards Nezergang and enjoy a scenic 1.5-hour hike through rice fields and forests to Khamsum Yulley Namgyel Chorten.
Built by Her Majesty Queen Mother Ashi Tshering Yangdon Wangchuck, this beautiful chorten was constructed for the protection of Bhutan and universal peace, offering stunning views of the Punakha Valley.

Later, drive back to Paro.

Embark on a memorable day hike to Taktsang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest), Bhutan’s most iconic spiritual site.
Perched dramatically on a cliff 914 meters above the Paro Valley, the monastery is built around the cave where Guru Padmasambhava meditated in the 8th century.
