Itinerary

Welcome to Bhutan! Upon arrival at Paro International Airport by Druk Air or Tashi Air, complete immigration and visa formalities. Meet your local Bhutanese tour representative and transfer to your hotel.

After refreshment, begin your sightseeing with a visit to Ta Dzong (National Museum of Bhutan), showcasing ancient Bhutanese art, artifacts, weapons, coins, and stamps. Walk downhill to explore the magnificent Rinpung Dzong (Paro Dzong), a 17th-century fortress overlooking the Paro Valley and an important religious and administrative center.

Today, embark on a memorable hike to the world-famous Tiger’s Nest Monastery, one of Bhutan’s most sacred landmarks. The moderate trek (2–3 hours) passes through beautiful pine forests and offers breathtaking valley views.

Legend says Guru Padmasambhava flew here on a tigress in the 7th century and meditated in a cave. After descending, return to your hotel and relax.

Drive along the scenic Paro Chu River to Thimphu, the charming capital of Bhutan—one of the world’s most unique capitals.

Visit the National Memorial Chorten, Dupthop Lhakhang Nunnery, National Library, and the Traditional Painting School to witness Bhutanese art and culture. After lunch, explore the Traditional Medicine Institute, Bhutanese Paper Factory, Royal Silversmith Workshop, and the impressive Tashichho Dzong.

End the day with shopping at the Handicrafts Emporium.

Overnight stay in Thimphu

Drive to Punakha, the ancient capital of Bhutan, crossing the scenic Dochula Pass (11,400 ft). On clear days, enjoy panoramic views of the snow-capped eastern Himalayas.

After lunch, visit the majestic Punakha Dzong, beautifully located at the confluence of two rivers and renowned as Bhutan’s most stunning dzong. Enjoy a peaceful walk along the riverside valley.

Overnight stay in Punakha

Begin your soft trekking experience from Punakha Dzong, walking through chir pine forests and rural landscapes. Optionally visit Dompo-la village to experience traditional Bhutanese village life.

Overnight camping in Limukha

Trek through scenic trails lined with oak and rhododendron forests. En route, visit the famous Drukpa Kunley Lhakhang (Divine Madman Temple), known for its unique legends and blessings.

Overnight camping in Chungsakha

Continue trekking through remote villages in the Wangduephodrang District, enjoying untouched natural beauty and warm local hospitality.

Overnight camping near Samtengang lakeside

Descend to the main road and drive to Wangduephodrang. After lunch, visit Wangdue Dzong (if accessible) or hike to Chimi Lhakhang, the famous fertility monastery of the Divine Madman.

Overnight stay in Wangduephodrang

Drive back to Thimphu for lunch and last-minute sightseeing or souvenir shopping. Later in the evening, proceed to Paro.

After breakfast, transfer to Paro International Airport for your onward journey, carrying unforgettable memories of Bhutan’s culture, nature, and spiritual heritage.
