Day 1: Arrive in Paro, Bhutan
- Arrive in Paro, the gateway to Bhutan.
- On arrival, you will be welcomed by your local tour guide who will transfer you to your hotel.
- After checking in to the hotel, take some rest and explore the local surroundings.
Day 2: Paro Sightseeing
- On day 2, you will visit some of the must see attractions in Paro.
- Start your day with a visit to the National Museum of Bhutan, located in the Ta Dzong fortress.
- This museum preserves Bhutan’s rich cultural heritage.
- Next, visit the Rinpung Dzong, which is the administrative and religious centre of the Paro district.
- Later, visit the Kyichu Lhakhang, one of the oldest temples in Bhutan.
- Here, you will observe the traditional Bhutanese architecture and learn about the culture and history of the country.
- In the evening, witness an Arhay Cham Dance performance at the Paro Dzong.
Day 3: Paro – Thimphu
- After breakfast, you will drive to Thimphu, the capital of Bhutan.
- On the way, you will cross through the beautiful Dochu La Pass, where you can witness the stunning views of the Himalayan Mountains.
- Once you arrive in Thimphu, you will visit the Memorial Chorten, a large stupa dedicated to the Third King of Bhutan.
- Then, visit the Folk Heritage Museum, which is dedicated to the preservation of Bhutan’s rural traditional lifestyle.
- Also, explore the Thimphu Tashichho Dzong, a fortress and the seat of the Bhutanese government.
Day 4: Thimphu Sightseeing
- On day 4, you will explore the attractions of Thimphu.
- Start your day with a visit to the Buddha Dordenma, a 169 feet tall statue of Buddha Shakyamuni.
- Later, visit the Institute for Zorig Chusum, which is a school for traditional Bhutanese arts and crafts.
- In the evening, enjoy a leisurely stroll around the town and explore its local markets.
Day 5: Thimphu – Punakha
- On day 5, you will drive to Punakha, the former capital of Bhutan.
- On the way, you will visit the Simtokha Dzong, a 17th century fortress and a school of Buddhist studies.
- Next, visit the Dochu La Pass, where you can witness the beautiful views of the Himalayas.
- Later, visit the Chimmi Lhakhang Temple, which is dedicated to the famous Buddhist saint, Drukpa Kuenley.
Day 6: Punakha Sightseeing
- On day 6, you will explore the attractions of Punakha.
- Start your day with a visit to the Punakha Dzong, a 17th century fortress which is the winter residence of the Je Khenpo, Bhutan’s spiritual leader.
- Later, visit the Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Chorten, a temple dedicated to the goddess of fertility.
- In the evening, take a leisurely walk around the town and explore its local markets.
Day 7: Punakha – Gangtey
- After breakfast, you will drive to Gangtey, a beautiful valley located in western Bhutan.
- On the way, you will visit the Wangdue Phodrang Dzong, a 17th century fortress which is perched on a hilltop.
- Later, visit the Gangtey Goemba, a 17th century monastery located on a hill overlooking the valley.
Day 8: Gangtey Sightseeing
- On day 8, you will explore the attractions of Gangtey.
- Start your day with a visit to the Phobjikha Valley, a beautiful valley located in western Bhutan.
- Later, visit the Black-necked Crane Information Centre, which is dedicated to the conservation of the endangered black-necked crane.
- Then, take a leisurely stroll around the valley and explore its local markets.
Day 9: Departure
- On the last day of your Bhutan tour, you will be transferred to the Paro Airport for your onward journey.
